Praia de Zavora

Praia de Zavora is an amazing place to relax and unwind. The beach is clean and quiet, with no crowds or loud music. Its one of my favourite in Mozambique. There’s a little store at the end of the pier with very expensive food and drinks but you can bring your own if you prefer.

The water here is clear and warm so it’s perfect for swimming or snorkeling! I went on a dive trip from Vilanculos and stayed here overnight before heading back out on another boat in the morning; it was so nice that we decided to spend another night there when we arrived back in Vilanculos!

In addition to diving, Praia de Zavora also offers opportunities for fishing, surfing, and other water sports. The beach is relatively secluded, which adds to its charm, but it also means that there are limited amenities in the area. Its same like on Praia de Chidenguele or Zalala beach.

One downside to Praia de Zavora is the lack of infrastructure and development in the surrounding area. This can make it challenging to find accommodation and supplies, and visitors should be prepared for a more rustic experience.

However, for those who are looking for a quiet and serene beach getaway, Praia de Zavora is definitely worth considering. With its pristine waters and breathtaking natural beauty, it’s a great destination for anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to get away from it all.

The water is clear and warm.

The water is clear and warm. There are no waves, so it’s easy to stand in the water and look at the fish that swim around you. The bottom of the beach slopes gently down into deeper water, but there’s no need to go swimming unless you want too!

The beach is not crowded, there are not many palapas on the beach.

There’s plenty of space in between palapas.

The palapas are spaced out so you have plenty of room to spread out your towels and not worry about touching other people’s stuff. This makes it a great place for families with small children.

The wedding day at Praia de Zavora was absolutely magical. It was a perfect combination of fun and elegance, with just enough room for our guests to let loose and get down at the party afterwards!

The ceremony itself took place on the beach, with views over the ocean as far as you could see in every direction. The sun set behind us while we exchanged vows under an archway made from flowers grown right there at Praia de Zavora. We then celebrated with cocktails and canapés before heading off into town for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Maputo–Casa Da Gaby (highly recommended!).
