Playa Punta Uva is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The sand is soft and the water is warm, and there are lots of trees and plants that make it so green. There are also all sorts of activities you can do in this area: swimming, snorkeling, kayaking—even surfing!
You just want to walk forever on this beach because it’s so beautiful but then again there’s nothing better than swimming in the ocean. The water is so clear too so it makes for a great snorkeling experience as well!
I really liked the beach because it wasn’t crowded at all. I’ve been to beaches before that were so packed you couldn’t even find a spot to put your towel down let alone take a dip in the water. But this one was different, and it was nice because there weren’t many people around.

Do I need to worry about getting burned?
Yes. The sun is strong in Costa Rica, and if you’re not careful, you can easily get a sunburn. Like with any other tropical destination, it’s best to apply sunscreen before heading out from the hotel or villa to explore the beach. Be sure to reapply every couple hours as well! If you go into the water, make sure that your skin isn’t exposed for too long—especially if there are no lifeguards present at that time.
What should I wear at Playa Punta Uva?
Because of how hot it gets in Costa Rica during the day (and especially on a sunny day), we recommend bringing clothes that will keep you cool but still provide some protection from sun rays: light shirts with sleeves are ideal because they don’t trap heat inside like tank tops do; shorts should be loose enough so that air can move around freely; pants should be comfortable since they’re worn throughout most days.
Shoes will depend on what activities one plans on doing while visiting Playa Punta Uva: water shoes will help protect feet when walking across rocky shorelines or swimming in shallow waters but might get uncomfortable after prolonged periods of use; flip flops are useful for walking around town due to their flexibility but aren’t recommended for spending time in deeper waters because they lack support underneath feet which could lead them slipping off under pressure from currents (this happened once when my brother tried using his instead).

Punta Uva beach is close to a small beach town Puerto Limon on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, about two hours north of San Jose. It’s known for its surfing and scuba diving, with great waves for both beginners and experienced surfers. There are also several hotels in the area if you want to stay overnight.
For foodies who want to try new things on their next trip, Punta Uva has plenty of restaurants and bars that serve local cuisine like ceviche (raw seafood marinated in lime juice), casado platters with rice and beans or pasta dishes topped with fresh-cut veggies like artichoke hearts or avocado slices.

It’s also next to rainforest, so you can go on a hike right from the beach!
You can explore a rainforest right from the beach! Just walk up the hill and you’ll be surrounded by trees and animals. There are monkeys, toucans, butterflies, spiders and more. You might even see some wild cats! Hiking through the rainforest is a great experience for anyone who loves nature or wants to explore new places. It’s not hard at all either – just follow your nose (or your eyes).
The bay is also home to a lot of sea lions, which we saw swimming around. They were so cute – they’d come up to us and beg for food! It was really funny seeing how close they got to people who had food in their hands (like cookies or candy)The best place to start is at the top of the hill. There are trails that lead down into the forest, but if you don’t mind an adventure then just walk straight ahead. You’ll see monkeys in the trees and butterflies fluttering around. When you get further into the forest there will be lots of spider webs hanging from branches.

The water here is warm enough that you can go in without a wetsuit, but if you’re prone to burning easily or if it’s really sunny out then definitely put some SPF on before heading into the water. You’ll also want to wear a hat; the sun here can be intense even though it’s relatively close to the equator, and there are very few clouds in this part of Central America.
If you’re not a strong swimmer and don’t feel comfortable going out too far into Punta Uva’s waters on your own (especially at high tide), then stick close to shore where there will be fewer waves crashing onto rocks or coral beneath them—and maybe bring along some flip flops just in case there are sharp bits sticking out of those rocks below! Much better is Playa Chiquita.

The Playa Punta Uva is located on the Northern shore of Costa Rica in Central America. Here, you can enjoy ocean, pool, bay and rainforest activities. At night, there are many bars that have live music and dancing. This area has a great climate all year round!
The best way to get here is by taxi; however, if you don’t have one available then I recommend renting a car because it will be cheaper than taking a taxi every time you want to go somewhere else on this side of the country (especially if it’s off-season).
You can get to Playa Uva from Liberia Airport by taking a taxi. If you’re staying at one of the hotels in this area, then there will be someone who can take you to your hotel. However, if you aren’t staying at any of the hotels here then I recommend renting a car because it will be cheaper than taking a taxi every time you want to go somewhere else on this side of the country (especially if it’s off-season).
BE PREPARED TO GET BURNED
The sun in Costa Rica is no joke. It’s super hot, and you’re going to get burned even if it’s cloudy out. So, be prepared for that by wearing sunscreen (even when it rains) and using a good waterproof sunscreen like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer. Apply your sunscreen at least 20 minutes before going outside and reapply every 2 hours. Stay in the shade as much as possible between 10am and 4pm—that’s when the sun is strongest here!
