FAQ
How long is the drive from the airport?
About 30 minutes by car.
Where can I rent a car?
Most major rental companies have locations on both sides of the island, but if you’re planning to visit more than just Worthing Beach, it might be worth looking into renting an electric vehicle instead of a gas-powered one. This is especially true if your stay includes travel between different areas and/or multiple days in any given city or town (for example: Bridgetown).
What’s the best way to get around?
If you have a car, driving is pretty easy here since there are only two major roads on Barbados (the ABC Highway North and South). There are also buses that go along these routes if you aren’t comfortable driving yourself or don’t want to pay for parking when visiting other places off-site like Speightstown Fort National Historic Site Museum & Interpretation Center where they offer walking tours every Saturday at 11am! We recommend booking ahead because they fill up quickly.. You can always check out this link too for more information about how many people use public transport systems like these everyday despite having access to other types as well.
Pros & Cons of Worthing Beach
Pros:
- The beach is beautiful. There are plenty of amenities and restaurants, bars, and resorts on the beach, so you don’t have to go far if you want to grab lunch or drinks.
- It’s good for swimming—the water isn’t too rough and there aren’t many rocks in the ocean near the shoreline.
- There are lots of different things to do here: parasailing, jet skiing, snorkeling and scuba diving in the coral reef just offshore from Worthing Beach (on the east side) or nearby Brighton Beach (on the west side), horseback riding along a white-sand path that leads from one end of Worthing Beach to another…the list goes on!
Cons:
- It’s not a great place for surfing because there aren’t any waves here–you’ll need something more powerful than your average wave machine at home if you want some serious wave action!
- The snorkeling isn’t amazing either–there are other spots around Barbados where there’s better visibility underwater; unfortunately they’re further away from this area so plan accordingly when making your trip plans if this is important factor in your decision making process!

The beach itself is not known as a great place for surfing but still has good facilities if you want to get out in your kayak or paddleboard. The beach also has sunbeds available for hire and there are plenty of restaurants nearby where you can relax between dips in the sea! More info you can get on Google review.
Fishing at Worthing Beach
Fishing at Worthing Beach is a process that can be made enjoyable for both tourists and locals alike.
For those of you who want to fish from shore, all you need is your favorite rod or reel, a few pieces of bait (the beach has plenty), and a steady hand. The water here is clear enough that you’ll be able to see your catch while they’re swimming around in it! If you’re lucky enough to catch one, just reel them up gently so they don’t get hurt on the rocks. Much better chance is on Bath beach.
For those of us who are more experienced with fishing but don’t have boats available during our stay at this wonderful vacation spot, there are rentals available right on site: ACHLORA VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTRE & CAMPING AREA (next door). This place has everything from boats to bicycles—even scuba gear! And if none of these options appeal to you or fit into your budget at this time, no worries! You can always go back home when things get rough instead 🙂 or visit Bottom bay beach anytime.
The beach has gentle waves and is perfect for small children however it is not great for surfing. It has calm turquoise waters with a few rocks here and there, but nothing to worry about if you’re careful!

Swiming with turtle at Worthing Beach
Swimming with turtles is a must-do activity for anyone visiting Worthing Beach. There are two species of turtles that inhabit Barbados: the leatherback and hawksbill. The leatherback turtle is the largest of its kind in the world, weighing up to 2,000 pounds (900 kilograms). Hawksbills are smaller but no less beautiful or important; they’re under threat from overfishing and may become an endangered species within our lifetime if we don’t protect them now!
Both these species are protected by law, which means you can’t eat them or harm them in any way while swimming with them at Worthing Beach. You’ll be able to see both types in their natural habitat—the water—which is just where they belong!

The snorkeling is great in the reef close to shore — there are plenty of colorful fish to see!
There are some vendors that sell souvenirs and beachwear, but they aren’t pushy. There are also a few people who will try to sell you excursions or rent jet skis, but again — not pushy at all. I would definitely recommend going here if you’re looking for an inexpensive day of fun in the sun!
There are several picnic tables shaded by palm trees as well as good snorkeling spots in the reef close to shore.
As we made our way along the beach, we spotted several people fishing from the rocks and boogie boarding in the waves. We also noticed a lady selling sunglasses and other beach accessories near one of the picnic tables. We talked to her about renting snorkeling equipment for a tour of some nearby coral reefs; she told us that there were plenty available, but she would have to charge us since she wasn’t an official vendor for hire on that particular beach (she was just trying to make some money).

The sandy beach at Worthing Beach is incredibly beautiful, with large waves rolling in during high tide and calm waters during low tide. It’s also frequented by small fish looking for food, so keep in mind that if you’re not interested in feeding them while on the beach, they might be more aggressive than usual—but don’t worry!
