What you need to know about Plages de Tahiti
There are a few things to keep in mind when visiting Plages de Tahiti:
- The beach is small and crowded. There are only about 100 chairs available, so if you’re going during peak season (July to September), expect to get there early if you want a spot on the sand. The water is also very shallow and rocky, making it hard to swim or even walk along the shore.
- You can only access Beach Tahiti from one side—from Rue du Portier—which leads into a small parking lot that has space for about 30 cars at most. This means if you don’t want to pay for parking in Saint Tropez itself, you might need an Uber or taxi ride back up there after your visit ends.
- Food and drink prices are high; some drinks cost over $15 USD! If you want something cheaper than that but still delicious (and much more affordable than what’s offered at restaurants), try stopping by Le Bar du Portier for some wine before heading home or picking up picnic supplies from their grocery section beforehand so that once we get home we can enjoy them together as soon as possible after getting back from our day trip here!
“Some of the best food and drink in all of France is found on Plages de Tahiti. The beach itself is small, but the vibe is worth it. We recommend arriving early or late in the day if you want to be near the water, as it gets pretty crowded during peak season.”

Small, crowded, but beautiful beach
The beach is small and crowded. But if you’re willing to get your feet wet, it’s beautiful. We found that the water was too rough for swimming during our visit, but we enjoyed watching the waves crash onto the shore. Very similar is beach Canoubiers.
We rented a kayak from an on-site vendor and had a great time exploring parts of the bay that were inaccessible by foot. The staff at Plages de Tahiti also rents paddleboards, which looked like fun! If you have children with you (or are just feeling adventurous), there are also seadoo rentals available nearby.
The beach is a favorite of celebrities.
The beach is a favorite of celebrities and it’s not uncommon to see movie stars or models hanging out at the Plage de Tahiti. This can make for some interesting moments if you’re trying to have a quiet day at the beach, but it also makes for great photo opportunities with some of your favorite stars.
The Plage de Tahiti is small and crowded, so if you’re looking for a large open area with room to walk around in privacy, this isn’t where you want to go. The view from this beach is magnificent though—you get a clear view all the way across Saint Tropez Bay on one side and past Le Pampelonne Beach Club (where many famous people often go) on another side towards Cap Ferrat.
It’s easy to meet influential people on this beach since they come here often because they like its location as well as how beautiful it looks while sitting under umbrellas with friends over lunchtime cocktails by day; however, since space is limited there are not many places left where visitors can sit down without being right next door neighbors with someone else unless everyone else has already claimed their spots early enough in advance.
The food is expensive and not that great.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that there aren’t some delicious restaurants in Saint Tropez. The town is home to a few amazing places where you can have a great meal at a reasonable price. However, if you’re looking for something quick and cheap or trying to save your Euros for other things like shopping, drinks or the beach, then this list is for you! Or you can visit Plage de Pampelonne.
