Plage de Saint-Estève

Plage de Saint-Estève

One of my favorite beaches in Marseille is Plage de Saint-Estève. Marseille is a beautiful city, and one of the best things about it is its vast number of beaches. It’s located just south of the old town and is close enough to walk there from most hotels in the area.

There are many restaurants along this beach that serve everything from seafood to burgers and fries (if you don’t want anything fancy). There are also plenty of bars that have live music playing into the evening hours as well as some fun carnival rides like bumper cars and Ferris wheels!

Nice Plage de Saint-Estève and it seems to be very safe

The beach is huge, with a long stretch of sand and plenty of people. There are many restaurants and bars, as well as an ice cream truck that comes around every 30 minutes or so. It’s also family oriented, so if you want to relax without the distraction of loud music (or children), then this may not be the best choice for you.

The beach has lots of parasols which can be rented for about €6 per day to protect from the sun if needed—we were told that there were only about 20 available on any given day though, so it’s best to get there early in order to secure one before all your options disappear!

FAQ

What is the best time to go to Plage de Saint-Estève?

The weather in Marseille changes very quickly, so it’s possible to have a nice day one day and a rainy one the next. To avoid surprises, you can check the forecast before your trip by clicking here. The good news is that most of the time it doesn’t rain for long and only at night (the temperature is much cooler than in Paris), so even if there are clouds in the sky during your stay, don’t worry!

How do I get from Paris to Saint-Estève? Should I take a bus or train?

There are several options: Trains leave from Gare de Lyon every hour on weekends and at least every two hours during weekdays; buses also run frequently between Marseille and Paris with departures every 15 minutes. Pros & Cons of Plage de Saint-Estève

Pros:

  • close to the city center
  • beautiful views of the harbor and Mount Bouguer
  • easy to get rid of your stuff when you’re done with it, by simply throwing it into the water (no one will stop you)

Cons:

  • not much shade, so if you don’t want to lay on a beach towel in direct sun all day, bring an umbrella or wear lots of sunscreen.
  • sand can get really hot—not ideal for bare feet! Wear water shoes instead.

“Plage de Saint-Estève is one of my favorite beaches in Marseille. It is located close enough to walk from most hotels, and it’s a great beach for swimming in the summer! It’s also easy to get here from the new town or old town.”

Saint-Estève beach

Saint-Estève beach is a small commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of France. It is situated north of Marseille, between the cities of Aix-en-Provence and Toulon.

The population of Estève is approximately 25,000 people. It is a peaceful town with many green areas, including the famous Bois de Boulogne park and many walking trails around the nearby mountains. The town center itself is small but offers all amenities including supermarkets, a post office and several banks, much more markets you have on Prado beach.

There is a beautiful view of the sea and boats.

The beach is very long, so it’s perfect for those who want to go for a walk or jog along the water. The water is also very clean and clear, making it an ideal spot to swim.

The bay itself has many boats coming in and out of it as well many restaurants and bars on the beach. The area is quite busy during summer months due to this fact, so if you’re looking for something more private then perhaps another beach would be better suited for you like Prophet’s Beach.

Spring time is the best on Saint-Estève beach

If you’re visiting Marseille during spring, it would be a good idea to visit Saint-Estève beach. It’s a little chilly in the morning but gets warmer as the day goes on. The water is still cold so don’t stay in too long. You can see the bottom of the sea and it is very clear with lots of fish nearby for you to observe!

The water is cold so don’t stay in too long. The beach is very clean with lots of sand and it’s not crowded at all.

The best place to go for a swim and sunbathing is at Plage de Saint Estève in Marseille.

It’s easy to get there by following the signs from the train station, and it’s only about a 20-minute walk.

The beach is clean, wide, and sandy with lots of room to set up your own camp site. There are lifeguards on duty who will watch over you if you’re swimming or playing in the water; they also have plenty of equipment such as surf boards available for rent if you need it! The water is clear enough that you can see little fish swimming around if you look closely enough (but don’t worry—they won’t bite). More info you can get on Google review.

The sand here isn’t rocky like beaches nearer to sea level tend to be so there’s no need for shoes unless there’s seaweed everywhere making things slippery—and even then sneakers would be fine since there aren’t any sharp rocks like those found during walks along English coastlines!

Kayaking at Plage de Saint-Estève

You’re going to have a blast kayaking in Marseille. The Plage de Saint-Estève is one of the best places to do it because you can rent kayaks there, and it’s a great way to explore the beach islands around Marseille.

If you don’t have any experience with kayaking, don’t worry! The beach has teachers who will teach you how to do it safely and are very patient when teaching newbies. They’ll even help you out if there’s too much wind or waves for your comfort level—or if there aren’t enough other people renting out their own boats at that time so they won’t be alone out on the water!

I really enjoyed myself when I went there last summer.

As a person who enjoys the beach, I had a great time at this one. It is not too crowded and there are lots of places to relax on the sand. It’s also close to other beaches with different types of sand, so you can explore around if you want to. You can go during the week or on weekends, but I recommend going during the week because it’s less crowded than weekends. The best time to go would be in July-August when it’s hot out and people are getting ready for their vacations!

Castle over Plage de Saint-Estève

The next beach, Plage de Saint-Estève, is just a short walk from the castle. You can take a path through the trees to get there or go back down the hill and cross over the bridge. If you want to climb up to Fort Saint Louis, there’s a steep path that will take about 30 minutes to ascend but it’s worth it for the views! This little hike is not for those who don’t like heights or stairs (or both).

The fort was built in 1660 and used as a prison until 1832 when it was abandoned by the military. The site became open public land after that time until 2003 when archaeological excavations started taking place here again because of its historical significance.

The fort is now open to the public and is free to visit. You can walk around on your own or take a guided tour with one of their volunteer guides. It’s an interesting place to explore and see what life was like back in the 18th century in Europe over one of the best beach.

The beach is enormous

The beach is enormous, but it’s very family oriented with plenty of restaurants, bars, ice cream trucks and parasols dotting the shore. You can really feel like you’re in a Mediterranean getaway. There is also a small amusement park that has been around for 60 years where children can go on rides or play in the arcade.

The water here is warm year-round which makes it great for swimming and snorkeling (there are some good currents here so be careful). The sand is soft and powdery which makes it easy to lay out on without having your body sink into it too much.

Conclusion

Overall, the Plage de Saint-Estève is a great place to spend a day at the beach. The water is warm and clear, and there are plenty of activities for everyone in your group to enjoy. It’s also close enough to other attractions like Castellon Castle or Cassis that you can easily do both on your trip without feeling rushed. Plus with so many restaurants nearby serving up delicious food, who wouldn’t want to spend their vacation here?
