Moana is a suburb of Christies Beach

It’s a small coastal town in the Fleurieu Peninsula, which is located south of Adelaide.

Christies Beach is popular with tourists because it has many beaches that are great for swimming and surfing. Moana Beach is one of these beaches, and it’s also very popular with families because there are lots of places to eat nearby as well as public toilets and showers on site.

The beach itself is gorgeous, with clean white sand, gentle surf and a great view back over the Port Noarlunga jetty and reef. You can walk along it for hours and not get bored.

The water is warm enough to swim in during summer months (January-March) but often too cold for a dip during spring or autumn (April-June).

The beach is patrolled by council lifeguards during summer months, and there are plenty of facilities – including public toilets and showers, picnic areas, barbecues and playgrounds. The beach is also dog friendly during off-peak seasons.

It is a fantastic spot for families with easy entrance

Moana Beach is a great place for families with children. The beach is a gentle slope down to the water and there are no steep steps or sandy paths to navigate. There is also no rocky shoreline, slippery rocks or dangerous currents at this beach. The tide pools are not dangerous either so you can go exploring without worrying about your little ones getting hurt!

The water is shallow and calm, making it a great place for children to swim. The beach has lifeguards on duty all year round, so you can feel safe about letting your kids play in the water. There are also plenty of nearby restaurants where you can grab some lunch or dinner after spending the day at the beach.

Large facilities are provided to make your day at the beach easy and safe

The beach is fully equipped with shade umbrellas, a playground, picnic areas and public toilets. There are also wheelchairs available for hire at Moana Beach as well as lifeguards on duty from 9am until 5pm daily during summer (October – April). Sun protection is available in the form of hats, sunscreen lotion or sunnies if you forget yours!

Deep blue cafe time for lunch

Deep Blue Cafe is a great place to eat if you’re looking for something casual and affordable. They serve breakfast all day, as well as burgers and sandwiches at lunchtime. The atmosphere is very relaxed – you can order at the counter or sit down and wait for your food to be brought over to your table by one of their friendly staff members (who will also make sure that they have enough change!).

The cafe isn’t open all year round though – it closes over winter months (May-September). You can try cafe at Hallett Cove Beach.

The menu is quite extensive, so there’s something for everyone! They have a great selection of sandwiches and burgers, as well as salads and side dishes. The food is very tasty and filling – you’ll definitely leave with a full stomach! I highly recommend the breakfast burrito or one of their omelets.

Shade umbrellas, a playground and picnic areas

If you’re looking for a beach that’s more than just sand, then Moana Beach is the place for you. These include beach-facing shade umbrellas, a playground and picnic areas.

There are plenty of things to do here including swimming in the ocean or taking part in water sports such as kite surfing or windsurfing.

The beach has been awarded international Blue Flag status for its water quality and safety standards

The beach has been awarded the prestigious award for the last 5 years, which means that it meets strict environmental criteria relating to water quality, environmental management, safety and services. There are over 300 beaches in Australia that have been awarded blue flag status.

The Blue Flag program was launched in Australia in 2001, and is run by the Australian Marine Conservation Society. The program is designed to help people choose a beach that meets high environmental standards, and encourages local communities to protect the environment around them.

The only other people I saw were one family with small children and three couples enjoying walks along the shore. Same amount of people I saw on Grange beach.

It’s not just the beach itself that makes Moana Beach so special; it’s also the beachfront camping grounds, which are well-kept and have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
