Pros & Cons of Spiaggia di Piscinas

Pros:

  • Location. If you’re looking for a quiet beach that is close to Porto Cervo and its many amenities, but still feels like it’s out of the way, Spiaggia di Piscinas is your best bet. It’s also just a short drive from other beautiful beaches (like Cala Gonone) and towns (like Alghero).
  • Food and drink options. There are several restaurants nearby that offer everything from pizza to seafood to traditional Sardinian dishes. You can also buy drinks at the market or bring them with you from home–it doesn’t matter because there aren’t any seats on this beach anyway!
  • People watching opportunities galore! The water here is crystal clear so it’s easy to see fish swimming around in their natural habitat. There are also lots of fishermen who come here on weekends; sometimes they’ll even let people take pictures with them if asked nicely enough 🙂

“I visited Italy over the bank holiday weekend with wife and kids. We were staying at a villa in La Maddalena and wanted to explore the rest of Sardinia so rented a car from Olbia airport. Since we were arriving late my wife decided to book the hotel for us beforehand so not to deal with any awkwardness asking for rooms on arrival. She booked Spiaggia di Piscinas based on its close proximity to the beach but there was one issue, she didn’t read reviews of Spiaggia di Piscinas first.”
